'The therapeutic hobbit hole'
To conclude my first year of studying the creative and therapeutic arts degree, i built a sensory hide out. It was a sensory and immersive retreat from everyday stress, bringing a calm relaxing space for the user to enjoy some mindfulness. The outside is constructed to resemble J. R. R. Tolkiens hobbit hole, a cosy homely place built into the natural environment.
The interior of this piece was inspired by the sensory and therapeutic space at Touch Trust, where the environment provides a visual and tactile experience. This is designed to immerse the audience in a calm meditative state enabling them to experience mentally clear, emotionally calm and stable state.
